O Sweet Mr Math

wherein is detailed Matt's experiences as he tries to figure out what to do with his life. Right now, that means lots of thinking about math.

One strike against Blogger: of the four web browsers I have, the only one that seems to deal with Blogger correctly and allow me to post is Internet Explorer. Anyone who knows me can probably guess how I feel about that.

Not happy.

I'm not sure if I'm really rolling a hoover. Perhaps someday this site will get RageBoy's attention and he will clarify. Then again, I probably don't want his attention, for my own safety. (Warning: RageBoy's blog contains adult content.)

Anyway, I think I'm rolling a hoover, which I think, based on my limited understanding, means that I am rolling a hoover, and that's good enough for me. More details coming soon.

I gave two weeks notice today. My boss took it surprisingly well. I didn't know how to react when she congratulated me.

Two weeks notice to my (soon to be former) company also serves as two weeks warning to me. Get your shit together. Only the strong will survive. I know I can be strong; the question is will I be strong.

Welcome to my blog. Shortly after I started moving on my new plans, I decided I should join all the cool kids and blog my experiences. So I started writing blog entries, and then went looking for a blog. I've decided on blogger.com for the moment, but I'm not sure if that's where I'll stay.

The problem with starting a blog and then figuring out where to publish is that I need to backdate my first few entries. Since I'm not sure if I'm sticking with blogger.com, I can't actually change the date on my entries right now. So I've added the correct dates to the body of the blog entries. If I get around to upgrading to Blogger Pro, I'll clean it up.

FAQ

What does "rolls a hoover" mean, anyway?

"Roll a hoover" was coined by Christopher Locke, aka RageBoy (not worksafe). He enumerated some Hooverian Principles, but that might not be too helpful. My interpretation is that rolling a hoover means doing something that you know is stupid without any clear sense of what the outcome will be, just to see what will happen. In my case, I quit my job in an uncertain economy to try to start a business. I'm still not sure how that will work out.

Why is the HTML for this page not valid?

BlogSpot adds the advertisement that appears at the top of this page. That advertisement is not valid HTML and is outside of my control. I believe that aside from that ad, this page is valid HTML.
